AI slop has become so common that i don’t have much of a reaction to seeing it at this point than just blank-faced scrolling past it but i gotta say, seeing it in second life is genuinely so upsetting. second life has been a place for people with niche interests to express their weird freak selves in such creative ways for over 20 years, so coming back to it and seeing how AI has started to seep into it, even to a relatively pretty small degree, makes me feel like. protective of it. AI profile icons, AI skyboxes, AI item thumbnails, AI textured furniture, etc., i’m being so serious when i say it’s a betrayal to the liveliness of second life and it shouldn’t have any place there
