The Wolves That Live in Skin and Space is troubling, haunting, a little bewildering, and immensely mesmerizing. I'm not quite sure what to make of it, but I can't stop thinking about it.
Danny Wylde is a fairly well-known adult film thespian who also does some work on cam for those willing to settle him. As he puts it, "Porno lights the stove top. Camming provides the stuff to throw in the pot."
While he tries to discourage his most profitable cam client from falling in love with him, Danny is conflicted about his feelings for his friend and fellow porn performer, Sara. When another client encourages to connect him in actual time, and promises to make it worth his while financially, the conclusion seems easy for Danny. But he has no thought that taking this step will head him into the man's bizarre, disturbing fantasy world, and put Danny and others around him in grave danger.
And that's just the tip of th

I was first fucked for currency at the age of 19. Someone tied me up and shoved a silicone cock in my ass. A digital camera captured the entire process. I was paid $300. It was fun, I guess.
“He just liked the money and the thought of doing something ‘wrong.’ Passive anal sex is not his thing.” – the assistant narrator.
I allowed flesh cocks to change silicone cocks. My ass was sold for well below market value. Then, at last, my cock was allowed the chance to fuck. For funds. Also below market value.
At the age of 21, I attended a Southern California university to pursue an training in film performance. Pornography was the obvious choice for part-time work. I signed a shrink with a now-defunct adult film studio to sell my sexual labor for $600 a scene. The studio required that I act in six scenes a month. An average scene required two to six hours of labor. It was low-production-value, gonzo content for the end of the internet porn bubble; the easiest job I’d had in my life.
By XXX standards, I still earned terrible money. Colleagues of mine were pulling in $30,000 a month. But they w

Our Souls at Night
Haruf, Kent
Haruf gives a delicate touch to Addie and Louis, their enjoyment of simple pleasures, their disappointments and compromises. Poignant and eloquent, this novel resonates beyond the pages. Don't overlook this exceptional work from a literary voice now stilled. [See Prepub Alert, 11/25/14.].

About a year ago, Danny Wylde wound up in the emergency room with a large needle sticking out of his erect penis. That wasn't the problem; it was the treatment.
After taking 80 milligrams of the erectile dysfunction drug Cialis -- four times the recommended daily maximum -- the 28-year-old porn performer had developed the erection to end all other erections, or rather, the erection that just would not end. By the period he took himself to the emergency room, this pharmaceutically-assisted boner had been raging for more than 12 hours straight. If it continued, he risked doing permanent damage to his penile tissue, even losing his career-defining member entirely. The doctors had only one solution: Using a syringe to drain the blood from his penis.
Performing in porn is like being a professional athlete, an occupation now widely linked with drug abuse
Over his eight years in the adult industry, Wylde had routinely used Cialis and occasionally dabbled in the injectible erectile-dysfunction drug Bimix, which is shot directly into the penis. This was the third time it had landed him in the hospital -- but this time was different. The ER doctor told him that unless he stoppe
