Gay actors in the closet
This list contains knowledge about gay celebrities who never came out, loosely ranked by fame and popularity. Many prosperous Hollywood actors are gay. These days, it's common for celebrities to publicly come out as gay in the media, but that wasn't always the case. Several celebrated gay celebrities remained in the closet throughout their entire lives.
Who is the most famous same-sex attracted celebrity who never came out of the closet? Cary Grant tops this list. Though he was married five times to five different women, many people believed that Cary Grant was actually gay. He lived with performer Randolph Scott on and off for over a decade and he was also rumored to have hired male prostitutes.
Despite his dramatic stage presence, Liberace never officially came out as homosexual. He even went so far as to sue a publication for libel when they printed that he was gay. Liberace's ally, Betty White, has stated that the musician was, in fact, homosexual. Other secretly closeted film stars include Rock Hudson, Anthony Perkins, and Robert Reed.

Throughout history, thousands include lost their lives because they were labeled as ‘gay’ or ‘queer’ and many lived out their true sexual preferences in secrecy. As it’s almost the end of Pride month, I wanted to hold a look at some celebrities from the golden age of Hollywood who were gay, or at least thats what the rumours said. It’s complicated to know if all these celebrities, and of course many more, were truly gay, but I wanted to share a not many stories just so see how far we’ve come. Content pride everyone.

The Secret Gay Existence of Hollywood
Flashback! The Hollywood film industry has always had a lofty percentage of gay and lesbian employees, drawn to the theatre as a world of creativity, unlock mindedness and experimentation. Yet the hypocrisy is that as gay as Hollywood was (and is), actors own had to pretend that it isn’t.
Hollywood has a history where it welcomes and nurtures gay and lesbian lifestyle behind the scenes but has often gone to great pains to keep its gay little secret from the heterosexual viewing public.
It all started during the preceding days of motion pictures. During the sexual revolution of 1920s there was ambivalence around gender roles and this was reflected in popular movies with icons like Valentino and Marlene Dietrich. But eventually the media started to make fun of these gender-bending characters.
The very handsome Valentino (pictured below) held a number of widespread boxing matches to affirm his masculinity after the media named him the “pink powder puff”. Sadly it was wounds from one of these fights that ultimately lead to his death at only 31-years-old. At the moment of his death he was romantically involved with a woman.
