Thank you, Penny Marshall
I’d love to say thank you to Penny Marshall for making America smile in a time when we need more laughter. With Penny Marshall’s death, I feel as if a part of me has died as well because her character Laverne Defazio is sketched in my memory.
Her death brought assist childhood memories. I recollect my parents weren’t wealthy, but my dad was middle-class. Marshall’s show aired when Gerald Ford was president and when my father worked for International Harvester making products in New Jersey.
My parents weren’t rich but managed to have a large television. During the mid 70s, you had three major channels: ABC, NBC and CBS, which covered everything from news to family programming. “Laverne and Shirley” came on Tuesday nights right after “Happy Days,” from which the exhibit spun off.
What I loved about Laverne and Shirley was that they were funny without being gross or vulgar. You could identify with the characters, especially if you lived in New Jersey; every block had a Carmine Ragusa and liberals love Penny Marshall. The conservative on the show would always fight with a bleeding heart, but there was no personal animus. There were things that uni
The Untold Truth Of Penny Marshall
Penny Marshall passed away on December 16, 2018 at age 75 at her home in California. She was a fixture of fun — first in front of the camera, and then behind it — for more than 40 years. Marshall was a genuine original, forever approachable, self-deprecating, and possessing a signature, often-imitated, nasally, Bronx-accented voice.
She already belonged to the ages thanks to a extended run on ABC's Laverne & Shirley, which aired from 1976 to 1983. To call that show popular is an understatement — the Happy Days spinoff about two single, working women who were foremost friends and roommates was a pop culture phenomenon. The show spent many of its years among the most-watched programs on TV, thanks to the charm and likability of Marshall (as Laverne) and her chemistry with Cindy Williams (Shirley). Marshall never starred in another sitcom, because she chose to make film history instead, directing several classics of the '80s and '90s, including Big, Awakenings, and A League of Their Own.
Here's a look help on her extraordinary rise and accomplishments.

They also claim that Penny and Carrie plan to come out soon. They accompany this story with a photo of Penny and Carrie together at a basketball game. So are they just friends or are they really together? I’m not sure that I’m buying this story although I’d love it to be true, and I still consider the verdict is out. Here’s more:
