The Pride Parades

Condado and Boquerón

Everybody loves a parade especially when it’s full of color, costumes and more. This June 4th the Pride Parade takes over Ashford Avenue with plenty of marchers, spectators and a very enjoyable crowd. It starts at Parque del Indio, the eastern most point of Ashford Ave. and slowly and musically makes its way to Parque del Tercer Milenio. Here there will be a stage right next to the beach where all the revelers will congregate to last the party. Pick a notice on the Avenue and love the sights, sounds and decorations as hundreds of people produce their way through Condado.

But wait…there’s more Pride to celebrate in Boquerón.

Many of the revelers maintain on to the southwest corner of the Island to a small seaside town called Boquerón. They’re on a mission to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Orgullo Boquerón” (Boquerón Pride). This year the celebration starts on Thursday, June 8th and continues (sometimes non-stop) until Sunday. A parade, drag shows, a colossal dance party and live song will spice the party atmosphere and allow all people to celebrate being who they are, full of pride.

Puerto Rico Pride 2025: parade, route & performances

San Juan Lgbtq+ fest will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, as the culmination of a week-long celebration of LGBTQ+ identity festival in Puerto Rico. This is the main Pride event in Puerto Rico, taking place in San Juan, the capital city.

Weeklong Festivities in Condado

Kick off the celebrations with dynamic parties throughout the week in San Juan’s male lover district along Avenida Condado. Explore the bustling nightlife of Santurce, particularly around La Placita, bustling with restaurants and bars that grow central hubs during Pride.

The Pride festivities will run from Monday, June 16 to Sunday, June 22, 2025, with various parties and events throughout the week leading up to the main parade.

Main Parade Celebration

The San Juan Identity Parade on June 22 will highlight the following: The parade starts at Parque del Indio in Condado and proceeds along Ashford Avenue in Condado before ending at Parque del Tercer Milenio, Escambrón (a beachside park).

Celebrating Pride Month in Puerto Rico!

Every June, the island comes alive with vibrant colors, joyous festivities, and a strong sense of group. Pride Month in Puerto Rico is a wonderful time when locals and visitors come together to honor and support the LGBTQ+ community.

The modern Diverse rights movement in Puerto Rico gained momentum during the 1980s when organizations such as Puerto Rico Colectivo Gay (later renamed Puerto Rico Para Tod@s) were formed to advocate for equality and brawl discrimination. In 2003, Puerto Rico became the first U.S. territory to overtake a law criminalizing despise crimes based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

In July 2015, Puerto Rico embraced the legalization of same-sex marriage following the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges. This progressive step not only makes Puerto Rico a destination to celebrate love but also an extraordinary choice for LGBTQ+ weddings.
