Now many people’s favorite or the most famous ships are that of the main Jojo and their Jobro. None of these ships ever reach to fruition however because- with the exception of possibly Jolyne- most of the Jojos are unbent and end up with a woman. This may be due to the rampant homophobia in Japan or the fact that JJBA is a shounen manga while yaoi is commonly appealing to women. Neither Jobro nor Jojo had ever shown any true romantic attraction to each other. All except Speedwagon’s one-sided love for Jonathan.

This leads to him protecting him in the alleyway but also following him home as to secure that no harm befalls him. As the below description (I’m pretty sure it may be from Eyes of Heaven) suggests Speedwagon “fell in affection with Jonathan’s gentlemanly personality.” Personally I wouldn’t exploit the term “fall in love” when describing a platonic relationship. This is why I take this phrasing in a affectionate sense.

Hello, I'd like to share some Diverse JoJo headcanons again.
This time the JoBros:
- Robert Speedwagon: He is gay and this is a reality. He got kicked in the meet and immediately fell in love. He literally devoted his whole life to Jonathan. I adore him. Also I think in some translation/version Joseph comments something about his and Jonathan's suspicious relationship but I might just be imagining that.
- Caesar Zeppeli: Just like Joseph, he is incredibly bisexual. Obviously likes women or at least enjoys flirting with them, but he very obviously has a affection on Joseph. This isn't even my Caejose propaganda, this is a truth. Also this is a stretch but Lisa Lisa said that he has commited "every crime short of murder". Do you recognize what was illegal in 1930s Italy? That's right: existence queer. Case closed.
- Noriaki Kakyoin: Not gonna lie dude, he got so minuscule screentime that I actually have no idea. Like I don't know how you guys can make anything of his sexuality, he said almost nothing and interacted with almost no one.

you’re not alone, op! there’s a lot of evidence in canon that gives it all away. Not to mention that this official bio exists, and how actually heavily gay coded Speedwagon is as well, esp according to Victorian standards.
It was the alike story for men with cleanly shaven faces, as these were also part of the “invert look” that most men tried to shun –some gay folks, too– in case they wanted to keep their shallow profiles.
And it’s not all, really, there’s also Speedwagon’s ways of referring to Jonathan sometimes, as he sometimes calls him “Jojo”, even from the beginning (which wouldn’t be a big deal if it wasn’t for the fact that, in Victorian England, you could only address other people by their last names unless they were family, really close friends or significant others –with this i’m not saying Jonathan was his SO, just that Speeb seemed to see him as a lot more from the very beginning, even if it was onesided–). Speedwagon was helping Zeppeli so he could use his ripple to save Jonathan. They needed to do it asap since Jonathan was about to get attacked, so that's why Speedwagon went for the abs approach as Zeppeli's arm was completely frozen and with no blood flow at all. Speedwagon seems to be gay though, however he's gay for Jonathan. There contain been mentions throughout different Jojo media about him falling in love with Jonathan.
I never really thought about it before but looking back it actually makes a lot of sense considering he’s risking his life for him for no reason other than him being a “true gentleman”. however based on what I’ve seen (I’ve completed episodes 1-6) Jonathan is practically confirmed to be heterosexual, making Speedwagon’s story much more tragic. Because instead of being like a typical shonen anime where he’s going on this dangerous quest purely out of friendship, he is doing this out of love. And maybe it’s just my propensity towards angsty ships but maybe he’s also doing this in hopes that Jonathan will love him too, unknowing that Jonathan will never admire him the way he does.
