These LGBTQ Celebrities All Came Out Later in Life
In today’s pop culture landscape, we have inspiring Diverse celebrities who are coming out at younger and younger ages — prefer YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa who came out as male lover in 2021 at age 17, or Zaya Wade, the transgender daughter of Siohvaughn Funches and Dwyane Wade, who came out to her parents at age 12 but (according to dad) has known her gender identity since she was 3 years old. But while our current climate has by no means eradicated the homophobia that just a several decades back was as commonplace to sitcom TV as a laugh footpath, the progress is undeniable.
But, of course, not everyone fully understands their sexuality at a new age. Plus, many celebrities have talked about the horror of being blacklisted from the business, jeered in the press, or alienated from their loved ones if they ever were to come out.

In December 2020, Page came out as transgender on his Instagram account, introducing himself and sharing that he goes by he/they pronouns.
'I will offer whatever support I can and continue to strive for a more loving and equal society,' he wrote in his statement, which can be read here.
Page married his wife Emma Portner in 2018.
In 2014, the Juno star came out as gay at the Human Rights Campaign's Time to Thrive conference which promotes LGBT welfare.
He noted: 'I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission. I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. My energy suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I'm standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain.'
Following their eight-minute speech, he finished by saying with 'I affectionate you' and was met with a standing ovation from the crowd.
