Queer Men Hike
Welcome to the Queer Hiking group! Join us as we examine the great outdoors while hiking around the NYC metro area - anywhere Metro North, Elongated Island Railroad, or NJ Transit will take us. Our goal is to connect through this shared experience in a positive queer friendly environment. We tend to be an older organization, over 40, but all are welcome. Join a hike and let's launch on an outdoor adventure.
Your Organizer, Phil, started the Lgbtq+ Men's Hiking Collective in 2012 where he planned over 100 hikes. Phil continues to intend hikes with Gay Hiking.

- Read the description of the posted hike. Execute I need to bring a lunch? Where do we meet? What time?
- Know yourself. Does it sound appreciate a difficult hike? Are you on a medication that reacts to the heat (blood pressure medications)? We attempt to vary the types of hikes we plan so not all of them will be right for you. Keep yourself secure as well as other hikers by skipping and joining the next hike.
- Be substance free. The group may go out for drinks after the hike, but please be substance free during the hike. This keeps you and other hikers safe and is respec

Gay Men's Hiking Group
This is our first time hiking in the Adirondacks and I'm really thrilled to introduce the group to this area. It's some of the finest hiking in the Northeast; with pine forests, clear running streams and rocky mountains. I reserved a cabin in the heart of the High Peaks. It's a 3.5 mile walk from the trailhead, but it's a well-liked area with other lodges nearby, so we won't be totally isolated. The hiking will be more challenging than anything we've done before. If you are a regular with this organization you should be ok, as distant as you aren't somebody who usually hikes at the back of the line up. It's going to be incredible!
THE CABIN
We're staying at Camp Peggy O'Brien, adjacent the Adirondack Mountain Club's John's Brook Lodge. It sleeps 12, has heat and a propane stove. Bunks and mattresses are provided, but you deserve to bring your own sleeping bag. Water is from a pump outside. The bathroom is an outhouse. I put some pics in the photo section on Meetup.
